Shepherds Way

Many thanks to Alan & Amelia Mccarthy for these pictures of their recent trip to Shepherds Way.
All three of the carp Amelia caught from Neate’s Lake were over 10lb and the lovely mirror was just under 4lb and was caught from the small little lake on a bunch of maggot.
Alan caught the perch at 8pm from the small lake at peg 13 on chopped lob, it weighed in a 2lb 7onces and in Alan’s opinion the best fish that he has caught at Shepherds Way.

Dave Ruddle caught this 5lb 13oz Chub on maggot at Sonning on 31st January and a Barbel of 15lb 3oz on 5lb line on 6 February – well done Dave.

Andy Binstead

A plaque has been added to the bench at Shepherds Way in honour of the memory of Andy Binstead who sadly passed away a couple of months ago. Andy’s wife Lisa and daughters Hannah and Charlotte attended Shepherds Way on Sunday with Richard Drury to mark the occasion.
I am sure that a vast majority of Club members knew Andy personally and can now share a private moment in his memory when visiting Shepherds Way. Lisa intends to keep Andy’s shop (Potters Bar Angling Centre) open for business as usual. Plese note, that the shop does not open on Wednesdays nor Sundays.

River Severn, 8 – 10 September

7 anglers (Dave Ruddle, Malcolm Foster, Mark Saunders, Ray Mouratsing, Robby Bond, Trevor Williams and Vincenzo Bisogno) made the annual pilgrimage to fish the River Severn over the weekend 8-10 September . The fishing was extremely difficult in the middle of the heatwave and water levels were at least half a metre down. Thankfully, some fish were caught and below are some of the photos from the weekend.

A report on our stretch of the River Thames at Sonning by Fishery Officer Dave Ruddle.
Sonning continues to fish well.
I was fishing there yesterday (5 July) and had 6 Bream, the biggest was 8lb 15oz. Also, there are good bags of Dace to be had.
If you haven’t fished before it is well worth a try.
If you need any help or advice on this excellent venue then Dave is the man to speak to.

Open Day – 13 May 2023

The Annual Open day took place on Saturday 13 May and was well attended by both Club members and new anglers looking to fish at Shepherds Way and join BADAC for the coming season.
A big thank you for their efforts yesterday to Mark and Stacey Saunders, Christine and Dave Ruddle and the Committee members who were on hand to give help and assistance – Richard Drury, Paul Hutton, Roger Manser and Ray Mouratsing.
