Dave Porter (aka The Hoarse Whisperer)

It is with deep regret and heart felt sadness, that I announce the passing of another stalwart  member of the Barnet and District Angling Club. He slipped away peacefully surrounded by his family, after that ‘dreadful disease’ reappeared in force, when we all thought the original operation last October had been successful.

For many years Dave was the Club’s Secretary and provided valuable input both of common sense and the ability to swell our coffers at regular intervals through being ‘in touch with people and on the ball’.

His club and match fishing ability was not to be ignored either, in his later years seeming to walk on water pleasure fishing on The River Severn in the Bridgnorth area of Shropshire.

He will be sorely missed.
