KHV Stanborough Lakes

Category : Club News

Dear Member, I am writing to inform you that the KHV virus has been confirmed at Stanborough Lakes and the fishery is closed until further notice. Hearing about cases of KHV is worrying, but it is of even greater concern when it is geograhically close to our club waters. I therefore must please ask you to take extra care when fishing club waters, especially Shepherds Way which has a large stock of carp. Please ensure all nets and mats are air dried after every session and if you discover unhealthy or dead fish, please contact the bailiff or me immediately. I know that our members are responsible and follow club rules but we all need to be vigilant at present. Water levels have been low, some local lakes have been closed which has put more anglers into fewer fisheries over the summer. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Roger Manser, (head bailiff) ,and the team at Shepherds Way for their hard work during the summer, in keeping the aerators running and regularly health checking the lakes. Without their assistance, I am sure we would have had to close due to the dry conditions. Thank you in advance for your assitance. Kindest Regards Paul Hutton Secretary
