Tips and Techniques
Big Lake
For great Tench fishing in the early season try caster or chopped worm on the pole in pegs 19 to 25 on the big lake. Try hemp and caster up in the shallow water, pegs 1 to 18 for great bags of Roach. If you’re looking for the Bream Shoals try pegs 34 to 44, in these deep pegs a ground bait and feeder approach can be very productive. In the colder months sqatt and ground bait fished on light rigs can keep the Roach and Skimmers feeding.
Small Lake
For the big Carp try pegs 119-122 and fish to the far bank. Tench in the margins over sweet corn and maggot. There are good Bream to be found in pegs 129 and 130, try the ground bait and feeder approach.
Night Fishing is to be allowed on both lakes as from 16th June 2013. To take advantage of this facility, members will be required to purchase a separate night permit and book the date in advance from London Colney Tackle.
